Second-order Differential Equations with Deviating Arguments
where f ∈ C(J ×R×R,R) and α∈ C(J , J) (e.g., αmay be defined by α(t)=√t, T ≥ 1 or α(t)= 0.7t, t ∈ J). Moreover, r and γ are fixed real numbers. Differential equations with deviated arguments arise in a variety of areas of biological, physical, and engineering applications, see, for example, [9, Chapter 2]. The monotone iterative method is useful to obtain approximate solutions of nonlinear diff...
متن کاملAn OGCM with movable land–sea boundaries
An ocean general circulation model (OGCM) with wetting and drying (WAD) capabilities removes the vertical-wall coastal assumption and allows simultaneous modeling of open-ocean currents and water run-up (and run-down) across movable land–sea boundaries. This paper implements and tests such a WAD scheme for the Princeton Ocean Model (POM) in its most general three-dimensional setting with strati...
متن کاملNonlinear Oscillations in Disconjugate Forced Functional Equations with Deviating Arguments
For the equation where LnV(t) + a(t)h(y(o(t))) f(t) LnY(t) Pn(t) (Pn_l (t) (..-(Pl(t) (P0(t)y(t)) ’) .) ’) sufficient conditions have been found for all of its solutions to be oscillatory. The conditions found also lead to growth estimates for tle nonoscillatory solutions.
متن کاملPeriodic Solutions of Rayleigh Equations with Two Deviating Arguments
It is well known that time delays exist widely in biology, neural network, automatic control engineering and so on. Since the existence of delays is frequently a source of instability, bifurcation and chaos, it is important to study the dynamical behaviors of the differential equations with delays. Recently, the periodic problem of Rayleigh equations with a deviating argument x′′ + f(x′(t)) + g...
متن کاملPeriodic Solutions for a Liénard Equation with Two Deviating Arguments
In this work, we prove the existence and uniqueness of periodic solutions for a Liénard equation with two deviating arguments. Our main tools are the Mawhin’s continuation theorem and the Schwarz inequality. We obtain our results under weaker conditions than those in [14], as shown by an example in the last section of this artticle.
